Fire Fighting Systems

Fire Fighting Systems

Fire fighting systems are the most critical systems that must be present in a building to ensure the safety of life and property. In our country, as provided expressly in the “Turkish Regulation on the Fire Protection of Buildings” which is signed by the council of ministers, installation of fire safety systems is mandatory for many buildings.

Fire safety systems are generally comprised of components such as fire extinguishing systems, fire detection systems, staircase pressurization systems and passive fire prevention systems. Although it is mandatory in some structures to install automated extinguishing and detection systems, it is also a must for other buildings outside the scope of this regulation to install and equip automated extinguishing and detection systems as per requirements.

Automated fire extinguishing systems include extinguishing systems that use water, foam, gas or special industrial-type extinguishing systems. All of these systems must be designed in compliance with national and international standards, and the systems must be selected according to the environmental conditions and requirements. In structures without an automated extinguishing system, a manual fire fighting system must be installed as minimum.
